We are working towards a wider plan to provide accommodation, projecting a growth rate of 35-50 veterans per month whilst, working alongside nationwide services supporting our veterans.
Bloom Housing’s operational management team identified a vital gap in support & accommodation, specifically developed for veterans.
Bloom set out to employ a Project Lead for Veterans, who; a veteran himself, fully understands the difficulties and how this effects lives.
He has identified several pathways to provide ongoing support and personal development:
The goals are individual, comprehensive and above all achievable.
Bloom Housing encourage community participation, engaging local residents and businesses. This engagement has led to members of the community donating items for our residents.
Our veteran’s lead has initiated a national “Red Flare Flag” email platform, offering immediate support for services who work with veterans, including custodial.
It is estimated that there are 5,000 homeless veterans in the UK – Government and charity data.
However, it is believed that this figure could be much higher as local councils do not include veteran’s sofa surfing, or living in tents etc.
Latest figure suggests that there are currently 2.4 million veterans living in the UK alone. Mental health still remains a huge concern, suicides amongst the veteran community will now be officially recorded.
Bloom is in the process of registering Bloom Academy as a registered charity to enable facilitation of services to veterans.
We work in line with the National Statement of Expectations to provide safe, stable, and supportive places to live. The accommodation is assessed for its suitability to meet your needs, and that it is accessible, appropriate, safe and hazard free. Staff that provide support will be suitable to work with vulnerable client groups and we will work in collaboration with you to provide the support you need.
You can apply for sheltered housing Here, or contact your local council.
We provide easy read tenancies and how to rent guides. However, we will also assist you with your tenancy sign up and you can ask our knowledgeable team any questions that you may have.
